Cruise To Nowhere

Cruise To Nowhere: click for map

Cruises to Nowhere are short, fun, one or two night jaunts offered by cruise lines to fill a cruise ship between two longer sailings. They try to schedule them for Thursday or Friday departures so that cruise passengers can enjoy them as a short weekend getaway.

Just because these are short cruises, it doesn't mean the cruise lines skimp on food, service, entertainment or activities. Since many of the patrons of a Cruise to Nowhere are First Time Cruisers who would like to "give it a try", the cruise lines often work harder to make sure they have enough fun to bring them back for a longer cruise next time.

These cruises typically depart from Port Canaveral, Florida or seasonally, from New York Harbor. They leave port in the evening and head out to sea. Once they reach International Waters, the casinos open and the fun begins. The day at sea offers you a much-needed opportunity to relax, catch some rays, and finish that book.

If you've never taken a cruise, this could be a good way to get started.
